My Summer Reading List

I’ve picked up quite a selection of e-books in the past few weeks. Mainly because I’m reading the work of some other indie authors, and I want to see how other authors are doing things. How they phrase certain situations. How they build a character or an entire world. All of that is wildly fascinating to me. Oh, and their story. You can’t forget the story. As a part of several giveaways in the coming months, I’ve had opportunity to

Off it goes to the shelves… ready or not.

Well… it’s official. The Mutant Frequency is going live on May 4… whether I want it to or not. I’ve scrubbed the format. Made all the changes I can right up until the deadline. This is my favorite book so far, with clean copy, great formatting and cover art that makes me very happy. I even put in a few suggested changes from my beta team. ( Sorry, Tammy, I can’t make your change. It would ruin the entire purpose

Diving back in

The next week for me is going to be insanity personified. I’ve reserved the next two days to lock myself into my room and make final Beta-Reader adjustments to the plotline of The Mutant Frequency and get everything ready for the release. I have to have everything to Amazon by Sunday so that it can be released properly on May 4th. Today, I feel frazzled. I’ve spent the past two days working on advertising and promotions, trying to spend as

The Mutant Frequency cover art is here!

After a much-anticipated wait, I have approval from the artists, and everything is done. I introduced it during the release event this morning (you should have followed the Facebook event, if this is the first you are seeing of the cover). Introducing Jackson and Lacey in their digital art forms. I am super-excited about this, and I am looking forward to getting this book out for everyone to read. I know many of you have asked when I would be

The Mutants are Coming!

I have been given the green light from my cover artists, and it looks AMAZING! I am currently in the works of creating a cover release date, and getting the finals of a BOOK release date set in stone. I think I now have all of the pieces to the publishing puzzle in place.   As a quick sneak-peek, here is the back-cover text for my newest book, The Mutant Frequency: Jackson and Lacey are mutants. They weren’t born, they

Amazon.com Negotiations and Decisions

This week, I have to decide if I’m going to stay “exclusive with Amazon” or reach out to other distributors. This is an interesting conundrum for me. On one hand, Amazon has provided over 95% of all my book sales. Even when — in the past — I wasn’t exclusive with them. However, the other hand says that I’m about to release a new series. Yes, this new series is happening! I’m swamped with activity to get this new book

Author Interview: Jake Elwood

Hello again, everyone. I know I haven’t posted much, but there’s a great reason… I’m busy writing. 🙂 In the meantime, I wanted to introduce you all to someone I met through several writer’s groups. Jake has critiqued a couple pieces of mine, and I have read some of his in return. He’s quirky and funny with an interesting sense on reality. I thought it might be interesting to do an interview, so you can get to know him, too.
